Roads

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

I think it is okay and expected to hope that the road we have to travel is as easy as it can be.  It makes sense that we would rather have a gentle journey than a treacherous trail.  Or a trying trail.  Or a troublesome trail.

We hope for things to come easily so that we can enjoy things.

But I think you can find pleasure in the struggle sometimes, too.  I'm sure not all struggles, but some. Some of those things make for really great stories.

That said, I think if you really want the road to rise to meet your steps, you should put yeast in your cement mix.
