I looked up concierge to learn about the origin of the word.  Yeah, so the word people don't know for sure.  One thing they suggested is that it might come from the Latin conservus which means "fellow slave."

That is interesting.  I wonder if the concierges at hotels know that.  Or the people who ask them for help.
