Moose

Every creature is better alive than dead, men and moose and pine trees, and he who understands it aright will rather preserve its life than destroy it.
~ Henry David Thoreau

Leslie does NOT "understand it aright."

She didn't like this moose in our cabin from a few weekends ago. I will grant her that the taxidermy job was lacking and it was sad to have killed such a small moose, but still. Leslie should have appreciated it anyway. But she didn't.

But the quote is about better alive than dead. Perhaps it is me who understands it awrong.
