The memories of my family outings are still a source of strength to me. I remember we'd all pile into the car - I forget what kind it was - and drive and drive. I'm not sure where we'd go, but I think there were some trees there. The smell of something was strong in the air as we played whatever sport we played. I remember a bigger, older guy we called "Dad." We'd eat some stuff, or not, and then I think we went home. I guess some things never leave you.

Chris often talks about how we need to create memories for the children. Above you see a picture of Elizabeth at the Boone County Fair finishing off a funnel cake. We went to the fair to see rabbits and chickens (thanks, Bonnie!) Well, mostly rabbits.
Elizabeth decided to get a rabbit to raise it for 4-H. We have the rabbit in the backyard right now. You can call it Ramona. Don't do that in front of Elizabeth, though, because she named it Louis. She plays with it at least twice a day, feeds and waters it. Gives it toys to play with. Cleans it's cage (a two story hutch with a ramp from one level to the next which she built with her own two hands and my dad's help).
"So," you might ask, "What good is this memory that you created? How has it been positive for the child?"
I dunno.
