The doors we open and close each day decide the lives we live.

- - - - -Today is Leslie's last day working at Duquesne. She has done a lot there. She has taught and engaged with a lot of students. She has collaborated with a lot of people. She has been patient with a lot of challenging personalities. She has endured a lot of perverts (the Duquesne Police Chief once said, "Libraries attract perverts." It's my favorite quote about libraries.)
Most importantly, she has made a lot of people laugh and feel cared about. Which is the same thing. You can't help someone laugh and not help them with bigger things too. That's one of the important things we do for each other.
A lot of things have changed in the years Leslie has worked at Duquesne. Some things have stayed the same. She is still a hard worker. She still makes people feel cared about by making them laugh. And even though you have to swipe in to get into the library on her campus, libraries still attract perverts. I guess they just loiter outside more now.
