Nancy Drew was a great sleuth. She did amazing things and had great adventures. Of course that all went down the tubes when she got married. She wanted to keep her name, but her husband insisted she take his name. She reluctantly agreed to hyphenate her last name and his last name. Still, that compromise was pretty much the end of her sleuthing days. It's like by giving up her name she gave up some piece of herself she never really got back again.

It was the world's loss the day she married Wilber Onthewalls.
