Elizabeth loves pets. She had a hermit crab named Apple and then a fish. I found this email announcement I sent out to people shortly after we had moved off-campus:

Elizabeth's fish died last night.
She doesn't know it yet, but I'm sure will figure it out when she notices the fish laying on the bottom of the bowl. Not sure what happened, maybe the trip was a bit too rough. Goodbye, London Rose Fowler.

Elizabeth didn't really mourn her fish too much. She did take a lot of time choosing the right name for it, though.
