Maddie: I love how she smells! Here — sniff her.

Michelle: No!

Maddie: Don't you just sniff her sometimes?

Michelle: No. That's gross, Maddie.

Elizabeth: Really, Michelle? You don't just sniff her?

Maddie: See? I'm not crazy. You sniff her sometimes, Elizabeth?

Elizabeth: (laughing) NO. I never sniff her!

(later, looking at the draft of this blog post)

Maddie: She looks so pretty there! (pause) I'm gonna be sad when she dies.

Elizabeth: Maddie!

Maddie: Well, don't you ever think about that?
