When I was a child I drove my grandpa's tractor. He left the keys in it and I got on it and started it and - so the story goes - I nearly ran over my granpa. I didn't, though.
It was probably shortly after that when my grandpa began drafting plans for his "spanking machine" that he was always talking about inventing.
