Is it ironic to anyone besides me that the narwhal is not native to Norway?

I didn't think so.

Is it weird that my parents own this album and failed to teach me one single Norwegian country dance? 

Probably not.

If we pretended Norway didn't exist, would we call it "Ignoreway?"

No.  Because we would be pretending it didn't exist.
