Me: Because you're so pretty.
Leslie: I probably have barbecue sauce all over my face.
Me: You do. You look delicious.
In and of itself this is a pretty innocuous conversation. But what if we examine it through the lens of film? What if we add to the dynamic the fact that one of my favorite movies is "Silence of the Lambs?" Then this isn't innocuous at all. Instead it becomes very, very disinnocuous.
