I think, if I had to choose, I'd rather make a grand exit than a grand entrance. When you enter grandly, everyone's expectations are really high that you'll be grand the whole time you're there. If you exit grandly, people just mill about after you've left and go, "Man, I wish she was still here."
Sometimes I try to sneak away quietly, though.
Most times, let's face it, I don't show up at all.
