Nicknames

Titles are but nicknames, and every nickname is a title.

A few summers ago when Elizabeth was getting ready to go to Girl Scout Camp for the first time, we were filling out the forms with her. One of the things it asked was if she had any nicknames.

Elizabeth: Put down "Emily."

Chris: What? Why? No one calls you Emily.

Elizabeth: This one girl at school does.

Chris: Why does she call you that?

Elizabeth: Because that's what I told her my name was.

Elizabeth clearly does not understand the difference between a nickname and an alias.
