Type

A typewriter is a means of transcribing thought, not expressing it.

It bothers me to see typewriters dismantled like this.  I know that they might be out of common usage since we have computers, but there is still something about a mangled typewriter that is disconcerting to me.  I think it's maybe that the stories that might have come from this machine are no more.  It could be that - to me - the "repurposing" of typewriter letters is never going to be as good as the original-purposing of them.

Or it could just be that I don't like the fact that when someone does this they are making a typewriter into a typewronger.
