I think we're the only jokeless show on television. I mean really, we have no setups and no punch lines. It's not a joke show. There are funny lines and funny moments but again the comedy is born of the human experience and awkward pauses are a great part of what it is to be human.

Me: How do you like your new swim coach?
Maddie: I like him a lot. He's really good. He's a little awkwardly social, though. That's okay, though because I'm a little awkwardly social, too.
Me: So if you have to have a conversation with him...
Maddie: Exactly - awkwardly social.
Me: (pause) You know a lot of people call that "socially awkward."
Maddie: (laughing) That's what I'm talking about!
