- - - - -I think the story of the phoenix rising from the ashes is cool. Overcoming adversity or defeat or bouncing back from the verge of destruction. Very cool.
I wonder, though, if the legend would have lasted over time if it had been something else instead of a phoenix. A warthog. Or a leech. Or a cockroach. I mean cockroaches can survive almost everything, but I don't think we as a society hold them in the same kind of esteem as a phoenix.
