Language


 The author O. Henry taught me about the value of the unexpected. He once wrote about the noise of flowers and the smell of birds - the birds were chickens and the flowers dried sunflowers rattling against a wall.

I love language. It is fun and funny and tense and intense - and past tense, for that matter. 
That said, I don't love all words. I guess most of them serve a purpose, but some words I don't care for. For example, I don't really like the word "pungent" unless you're using it to describe a guy who is clever with words.
