I might argue that a well-trained religion is like a dog, it sets the deserving at their ease and is a terror to evildoers.

Okay, I wouldn't argue it.  I might say or think it, though.

And like a dog, a good religion will let the evildoer figure out on his own that he is an evildoer.  A religion that judges before it knows a person isn't a safe place.  A religion that judges a person after it knows a person isn't, either.

Unless it was a religion started by Judge Judy.  Because you can't fault her for judging.  It's who she is.  She wields judging and guilt pretty well.  I guess her religion is Judyism.
