I think it is important to encourage discovery, exploration, understanding. I think that part of that means not giving people prescribed notions of reality, but letting them find their own. Rather than forcing conformity, when we have a chance to challenge the status quo - or leave the door (or window) open for others to push and challenge... Well, I think we are better served as a people and cultures to do that.

A couple of weeks ago, I overheard this conversation:

Kid: Mama, what do they call them windows for?

Mama: 'Cause that's what they are!!

That is an example of what I am not talking about.
