Work

There is no substitute for hard work.
~ Thomas Edison

I disagree with Thomas Edison on this. There are lots of substitutes for hard work. Examples include: naps, half-assed work, daydreaming, etc.

I overheard a guy say one time, "My buddy - he's hard core unemployed." I don't know what that means, but it sounds like hard work just the kind without a job.

Plus I think Edison himself would say that hard work can be replaced with stealing other people's ideas (allegedly). Though, in all fairness, stealing other people's ideas is probably hard work, too.
