Is it worthwhile to observe that there are no Venetian blinds in Venice?

Blinds don't just keep sunshine from coming in, they keep your sunshine from going out.  They can protect and shield us, but they also isolate and separate us.  It is hard for us to really see the world if we don't let the world really see us.  You can't partially engage and fully experience what is going on around you.  Living is a reciprocal arrangement.

That said, it's okay to close the blinds sometimes.  Because sometimes we don't want to see you.
